OK. I promised pictures of the Naked Ladies when they came open. I know they are hard to see in this picture but my battery on my camera went out as I was taking these pictures so this is the best one for now.
It seems that they were not planted too deep because I pulled a bit of the fallen leaves away from their bases and discovered that they are sitting right on top of the ground. Evidently, the bud comes up near the ground then grows tall before opening.
What a sight! I sure hope they keep visiting me each year in the future. Now I need to plant something pretty under them so they don't look quite so naked.
